It's Thursday...but Sunday's Comin'

Apologies to Tony Campolo for modifying his line for the title of this post! I'm sure all the teens are wondering what I'm talking about. Anyway, we've all agreed to get together this Sunday. We've talked about what we might do but, I don't think we've settled on anything. So this post is an invitation for everyone to discuss what we might do this Sunday. It doesn't have to be way formal, but we should have some general idea so it's meaningful for those who show up. In my experience if something meaningful (translated worth giving up my time for) doesn't happen it'll make it harder to get people to come back.

Keeping it simple would probably be best. If a lot of people show up would you do something differently than if less people show up?

Has anyone invited others to come?

...it is Spring Break and I think keeping it simple this week is a good idea. My thoughts are that we should continue getting to know one another (personal testimony's, about me, ect.)as well as continue to focus on picking a few, "What If's..." that we can actually do. I will bring a printed list of what we've come up with so far. I have heard from a most of the students and they have been inviting others to come!

I can bring a few ice breaker ideas that may be fun too...

I'm glad you guys are communicating with Mike. It sounds like there is a plan in place, so I'm going to confirm The Sweet Spot for this Sunday at 6:00 pm.

BTW, I believe with vision, planning, timing, resources, and God's blessing virtually all the 'What If's' are things we can actually do.

Hey!
Okay, my publicity idea:
This week has been really crazy for me so it's been hard to get it all worked out, but I was thinking of making some flyers that we can put on cars in our parking lot during school hours and I have a couple of open hours every other day that I was going to use to go out to our neigboring high schools and do the same. I thought also just seeing if we could leave a few with some of the businesses around town (King Soopers, fast food resteraunts, etc.) if they would allow us to. Just a thought, and I was really planning on working on it this week, but things got totally nuts! Sorry about that. Curse scholarship applications and AP biology! lol.

God is going to bless time together and I believe that all the "What If's" are possible as well... it would be good to pick a few to get started on though =)

lol! Mike, I agree. Just messing with you a bit. :)

Jenn, great ideas. Nothing beats a personal invite though. But if someone comes to check us out because of a flier though, it's worth it.

Hey gang. Sorry I haven't been contributing since Monday. Crazy week. My thoughts on a plan for Sunday include someone sharing their testimony. Everyone likes hearing a story. That's the way Jesus liked to teach. God is working in everyone's life and that is the one thing that God gives everyone as a tool to reach others. Is anyone comfortable sharing their story?

Also, I think people love to be prayed over. There is nothing better at breaking down walls and bonding together then when we do "spiritual battle" side by side and stand in the gap for one another.

Just two suggestions that are very simple, doesn't require a great deal of planning, and all of which could be led by a student or an adult. Whaddya think?
